Is my partner on dating apps?

This is worth being straight about, because most pages on this subject are not. A phone number can show you some things and genuinely cannot show you others, and knowing which is which saves you both money and a false conclusion.
What a number can show
Public accounts linked to the number, where the person has set them to public. Traces of registration on services, where those traces are themselves open. A profile photo on a messaging app, which you could find yourself by saving the number. That is a real answer to a narrow question, and sometimes it is the answer you were looking for.
What it cannot show
We do not search dating apps, and nobody legitimately can. Private profiles cannot be retrieved, because they are not public. Message contents are not accessible by any means. Last login times sit with the platform and nowhere else. And an account created with a different number will not connect to the number you have.
If a service claims it will search dating apps directly and return private profiles, it is either lying about what it does or describing something it cannot legally do.
A note worth making
A lookup returns possible matches with a confidence level. A name that looks like a match is not proof of anything, and acting on a maybe as though it were a certainty is how people end up wrong and hurt. If what you actually need is a conversation, no report substitutes for it.
| What you want to know | Visible? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Public accounts tied to the number | Yes | Limited to profiles set to public |
| Services with an open registration trace | Sometimes | Only where the trace itself is public |
| A private profile | No | What is not public cannot be retrieved |
| Message contents | No | Not accessible by any method |
| Last login time | No | Held only by the platform itself |
| An account made with another number | No | A different number breaks the link |
Common questions
Can you tell me if someone has a Tinder account?
No. We do not search dating apps and no legitimate service does. What a lookup shows is public accounts linked to a number, which is a different and narrower thing.
Will they be told I searched?
No. No notification is sent to the number or to any linked account.
How reliable is a match?
Each result carries a confidence level, and that level is the point. A possible match is a lead worth understanding, not a fact to act on.
